Whats the fastest you have ever travelled in a car? and what car was it?

Mine is 153mph (on the clock) In a Ford Focus RS (and that was flat out too)

I worked in Bahrain in the eighties, and at one point a road runs parallel with the airport runway for about a third of its length.

Occasionally you could see one of the locals in their top of the range Porsches lining up next to a Lockheed Tristar and then racing it from a standing start. The car would win for a while, but I was waiting for the day one of them would chicken out too late.

 I did the gt3rs, and the amg on the bedford autodrome as I know someone who goes on trackdays there regular and is a huge enthusiast. He goes everywere taking his cars on tracks around the country. One of his favourie days out is the bedford autodrome as there is no barriers and if you come off theres nowt to hit. He also had an M3 which he took out too. The gt3 rs is an animal on the track. Why would I post on here talking rubbish? What would be the point of that steve?

I've done 164 on my R1 and before the tree huggers spit out their organic muesli, it was on a race track, Almeria Southern Spain. There was a long straight and we all had a little competition, I was about mid table , some guy on a hyabusa did 182 before he had to brake! In car I've been 145 in a SL500. Stop it Tom Tom, you've got me feeling the need, the need for speed!

138 on the clock in the. old original audi quattro.

146mph in a Fiat barchetta.. couldn't push it any further and nearly died when thr was a souped up golf flashin to overtake.. I'm not built for them speeds!

been 204 on a hayabusa on motorway, hurts you back from tucking in though with my fleece over my leathers flapping and whipping ur back, awesome tho, you cant read the road very well at all.

I've done 131 in a 2 litre, diesel (yes diesel) 53 reg mondeo estate and it would've gone faster, but I was being very silly and came to my senses. I had no idea it could do that, but it just kept going, so I thought,
"what the hey, it's 3am on a pretty much empty m25".

When I was an even sillier boy, I went off the clock (130) in my 1990 Citroen AX GT, racing a BMW M3 and an Mondeo ST220 on the A12 between Colchester and Ipswich, the ST dropped out at 110, but the M3 guy kept pushing me. When we got to the Ipswich roundabout, I asked the fella in the BM and he said we were doing 138 on his clock.

my first car, about 18 months ago, was a H-reg ford fiesta. it was a complete banger, but i managed to get 90 out of it on the motorway. i thought it was gonna take off the engine was that loud!!

........i got 75 mph in a hillman imp, my first car, not only mindblowingly fast.......i got the proof as got clocked by the police and had to go to court!!!! Think i got off lightly at the time as it seemed so unlikely !
