I work for Royal Mail. A number of postmaen use their cars on delivery and use plastic trays to carry the mail in, however some of them dont take them back into the delivery office after been on delivery but dump them on a grass verge adjacent to the building. We had some high winds a few weeks ago and they blew into the side if my car causing 460 worth of damage. I made a claim through customer services but have just received a letter denying liability as there is a sign saying cars parked at owners risk. Is this legal as the damage was caused by staff negligence.......

Signs saying "parked at owners risk" have no meaning in law, sue them.

Have the postmen who deliver mail in thir own cars paid out of their own pocket for the high cost courier insurance on their cars?
Claim off your insurance, assuming you have fully comp, and then just let the insurance company sort out liability- that's what you are paying them for.
