Hi. I can't fill my 206 with fuel past half full - the petrol pumps clicks as though the tank is full but it isn't! Does anyone have any ideas - it's been into a garage and they said there was petrol in the float but it isn't this - it genuinely just won't fill past the half way point. Any ideas anyone?

firstly, when you fill up and the pump clicks off as though it is full, give it a few seconds and try again. sometimes the force of the fuel going in makes the pump click off. if you still say you can't fill past half way i would be suspecting a fault with the fuel guage. it could be that you have a full tank but it's only reading half full. what would happen if you let the guage go down past the empty? if you kept a gallon can in the boot as an emergency reserve, you could see how much further you can go on 'empty'. good luck
Pull the nozzle half way out, and try tilting it at different angles. Only half squeeze the trigger to reduce the flow.
My car sometimes does the same, I pull the nozzle out so just the tip is in, and dont pull the handle right up as far as it will go, just pull it up about half way.

This seems to solve the problem
I had a rover that did this. We had to turn the pump so it was almost upside down to get fuel into it.
fiat puntos are common for this. the trick is to make sure the neck of the nozzle doesnt come in contact with the edges of the filler cap on the car some cra sedges on the cap are made of metal and some cars are made of plastic and if there is contact on a metal one the pump automatically cuts out.
