vauxhall omega clutch

Hi. I have 1999 vauxhall omega 2.5 v6. when pressing the clutch pedal there is a slight noise. the clutch still seems to engage fine but the pedal only starts feeling normal about half way down. could you please advise me on this matter wether it is a gear box out job.Many thanks .

If it's a whirring sound it could be a worn clutch-release bearing which isn't too serious.
