When you are driving do you ever deliberately not park in a car park space if you think you might have trouble getting out of it when you go back to your car? (like me today ), do you get anxious when someone drives close behind you?, do you hate driving on motorways? i do all of these things, how are your driving skills? :)))))))) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I am an absolutely awful driver!lol.x
I hate parking next to people...I go for the open space (xxx)

My best driving is when I drift off and cant remember driving...never any mistakes....probably lots of people knocked over tho
I pull over if someone gets to close behind, then i let them pass and accelerate up behind them, lol , they get the message, and in tescoes car park i park where noone else does as i don't trust poeple with trolleys
one of my sisters will only drive to and from work - about half a mile, she refuses to overtake anything and has been known to drive miles out of her way just so she didnt have to turn right. but her best one was when she complained that all the wagon drivers on the motorway were speeding past her - she was driving from exeter to taunton on the hard shoulder.

and she didnt like her new car cos it made her fall asleep
Yaaay I'm not that bad^^^^^^^^^lol.x
I have been in a car with you....never again
dilf please tell me your sister lives NOWHERE near me! lol I like to think I can walk along the pavements safely!
nurse carla , as an advanced driver (still not very good )
i can appreciate that your anxious. lost my licsence 2 wice doesnt make me a good driver.
I would hope that you are a calm person,you just have to look ahead,not only in driving but life too...........think of your life as well as you would taking a car or motorcycle out,there is always something around the corner..........
ok 7 write offs since 17, but have taken an advanced course with the 'police' . took me a while ...........but god help me it was worth it.
Parking was nt a problem,but drink and speed was.....(3000 hail marys) but it is very important that you 'chill' dont wory about the rest of them your road, you drive the way you were taught ...........
It must be awful to be anxious, but I bet you're not as bad as you may think you are nursecarla!

To be honest, driving & parking has never bothered me.

I passed my test on 16 June 1972 & the very next day, drove our (then) two little girls from South Beds to Essex, via the M1 & Nth Circular. They sat quielty in the back drawing, oblivious to the fact that I'd never driven on the motorway before!

I've actually watched people trying to manoeuvre out of wide parking spaces & still managed to nudge bumpers! One woman was nearly in tears in the hospital car park, so I very discreetly asked her if she needed any help. She said she'd been trying for 5 minutes & was so grateful to me for getting her out of a tight spot - pardon the pun!

Anyway, I needed her parking space! ;o}
lol neo!
I have been driving for thirty-five years now, and i do genuinely think I am a good driver.

I am always mindful of my 'escape route' when I park, and I try to make sure, within reason, that I can extricte my care fairly easily. I avoid multi-storey car parks when ever possible.

I don't bother if someone drives closely behind me.

I don;t mind motorway driving, but I find the huge volume of traffic a strain, and the apparent inability of people to either aniticipate even a few seconds ahead, or remember that overtaking is done on the right makes it more nerve-wracking than it needs to be.
I think you should maybe do your advanced driving test. The extra knowledeg would really help you - it must be awful feeling so stressed!!
I stopped driving for those reasons carla. It was a combination of things at the time (husband being ill, uni work, being made homeless, young child etc) I was driving at the time to Leeds a lot for uni and to take my husband to and from hospital and I became so anxious that I started to take the train instead, so a 40 min car journey became a 2 hour train journey at rush hour everyday (so prob wasn't a smart move lol) I became that nervous and anxious that I started to refuse to drive even to the supermarket and now haven't for about 3 years and I doubt I ever will again.
The worst part is I was a very good driver (my husband says so, so I must have been lol)

I always suggest to my husband parking out of the way ever since we came out of Morrisons and discovered a couple with their trolley leaned up against OUR car because there was a slight slope!!! God my husband was fuming and all the woman could say was "where am I supposed to lean my trolley to get my shopping out?" to which my husband replied "Against your own bloody car!"
Some people!
It would always make me laugh seeing a woman trying to park her tiny little car in a huge gap, after trying and giving up I would then park my Range Rover in the same gap!! lol

I am a very confident driver, if someone drives too close to my rear end I just slow down to about 15 miles an hour especially if there is no where for them to overtake, they soon get the message!!
Same here Ratter - I sometimes do the same with my husband's Land Rover, it's a sinch - except I'm a woman! ;o}
