Mk 3 mondeo running lumpy

Maybe I won't sell my car after all!


I have just noticed today my mk 3 2.0tdci ghia x running a bit lumpy. Everynow again the car is seems to hold back and then resume as it were. I can only described it as like a cough/splutter. There is no excessive black smoke or anything else noticable different. It is more noticable under the driver foot on the accelerator pedal than passenger seat. It makes no difference wheter you doing 30 or 70. I have given the car a good long run to see if it cleared it but no difference. have not ran the car low or fuel or put cheap fuel through the system.

Any ideas would be much appreciated before i resort to Frauds to rip me of for a diagnostic.

sounds like a fuel sensor is on its way out if it is your engine will run rich every now and again should cost about 120 quid at a decent garage
