it probably could be repaired but i wouldnt think it would be cost effective to be honest, by the time you repair bent conrods and wotnot you would probably save money sourcing a 2nd hand engine and having that fitted.

My wife drowned her fiesta a few years ago - dried out the cylinders and air filter and replaced the starter motor which she broke when she tried to restart the engine after she drowned it and it worked fine - none the less, we did get rid of it shortly after.

Probably cost about �200.

Does not need a �2000-�3000 new engine if it is just flood damage and the engine was not running.

The cheaper the better!! Just found that because of not beeing fully comp I am not covered. Have removed injectors to drain the water off replaced the injectors,just hopeing afully charged battery will start her up.failing that shall get quotes for repair ,or recon engine. Althuogh its 1995/6 Renault Espace Family TD 2068cc I wish to hold on to her Thanks for all your posts

Toureman what would be the cheapest price for repair/replacement for Espace diesel 2068cc engine brought and fitted please as I Would like to keep IT.....Thanks for everyones help..

if the car was not running when it was flooded, as tourman said, you don't need a new engine. nothing will be bent. if you've tried to run it after it was flooded without sorting it first you may have damaged it though.

Have got all water out by removing the injectors,started up for a short while ,feels and sounds like its misfiring,injectorscould be no good?
Top Gear drowned an old Toyota Hilux pick up in the sea, but still got it going again.
