Reporting bad driving
Our local paper ran an article giving details of a website where you can name and shame local bad/dangerous drivers. The police response to this was that you should report incidents to them so that they can investigate.
However, we have a couple of idiots who regularly tear up and down our road with no regard for anyone else, the police have been informed, their response - call us back in half an hour and tell us if they are still doing it.
What's your opinion?

If things are as bad on your road as you say they are, I should make a note of times and dates, along with any registration numbers if you can get them. If a few of your neighbours join you in this, you could submit your findings and see if it has any effect.
It is most annoying when you've got to put up with mindless idiots like those you mention and I do sympathise with your situation.
What you can do, and I'm surprised that the police didn't say this, is to gather your own evidence of their anti social behavior. Use a video camera to capture the bad driving and collect car details, registration plate etc.
Do be careful when doing this don't go single handed and always have someone to watch your back and as a witness in case of trouble.
Once you have enough evidence present it to the police and see what they say. You've done their job but you will probably see results. Another thing you can do is to send a copy of the tape / DVD to the local paper, they are always on the look out for local stories. Good luck
