car noise please help

I have a peugot 206 1.1LX with high mileage - It has supposedly had a new cam belt recently fitted. However when I take my foot off the accelerator it makes a strange roaring/wearing noise. Otherwise it seems to run fine - please can someone make suggestions as to what it is.
