vauxhall corsa's temperature gauge

my partner took her car to the garage to get a new battery fitted but when the car came back the outside temperature was sky high and now its doesn't even show the temperature, it just shows lines it worked perfect before we took it in,can you please give us some advice on how to fix the problem or if we need a new one thanks

Hi, stelnjay, From what you have said, Myself i would disconnect the battery and reconnect it, and see if that work's if not take it back to the garage and ask them, to find out what they have done, specially if it worked before the car went in,

The sender unit has most likely developed a fault - quite possibly a coincidence - it is located behind the front grill/bumper - easy enuff to change yourself.
