yellow lines parking

i was given a parking ticket for stopping on a hard verge alongside a double yellow line . i wasnt obstructing the path or anything else. it said on the ticket [ parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours ] .there were no times displayed on any posts or signs. can anybody tell me if this is right please.

Yes, it's right.
You are not allowed to park on the verge - hard or otherwise.
Double yellow lines include the street and pavement, ie from the edge of any private property on one side to the other.) If there were no posts displayed nearby then they are not enforceable. (Otherwise how would you know when the lines referred to!)
Sorry, ignore my previous re the posts - these are only required for single yellow lines!
