In a nutshell - yes. Of course they are not without problems as I'm sure other people may testify to, but they are generally reliable and durable vans.
Yes more reliable than other makes of vans.
Well, if you are planning to rob a bank, and use one of these as a getaway vehicle than less,as these were mostly used for this purpose in the 1970s but am told that the engines in Fords are unreliable. Have only ever had one of these in our family, and it cost us more to get it fixed than it did to buy. Some people I know will only ever buy Mercedes Benz Sprinters, but think they cost more than Trannies. Also Trannies tend to rust quite badly, but that was on the old models, perhaps the new ones are better.

Not really sure what advice to give you, but my experience of them has not been good.
Ive had a Ford Tranny for the last 5 years and it's only let me down twice and that was with a flat battery but that was my fault for leaving on the rear curtesy lights....
I have had an 'N' reg. with the oval grill and the 2.5 diesel engine for 8 years. left out all the time and low mileage, with a bit of attention no rust problem. starts every time and is very reliable apart from the fromt lower suspension joints.
