I've got about ten grand to spend on a new/second hand motor. I'm looking for something quite sporty but don't know too much about cars and haven't done any research yet. I like the look of the Nissan 350z but they're probably slightly out of my price range unless I go for high mileage, I've also seen a chrysler crossfire which looks good, and an 04 model is affordable on my budget. Anyone got any other suggestions? Or any reasons not to buy a chrysler?
Cheers
Yeah, that's true, well my car costs about 60 in petrol from very empty to very full, that will last me around 2 and a half weeks doing 184 miles for definate (round trips to work) and then anything else I do at weekends - usually about 10 miles or so over the weekend.
I suppose petrol is an issue for everyone at the minute but I can afford it at the moment and you only live once!! I can always save money on non essentials like food or the mortgage. What do you think of the crysler?
The previous model XKR/8 is a sepctacular car and for 10K you'd get a mint one, as the new model has put the old one out of bed. Get the R if poss 400bhp with supercharger. I assume fuel consumption is not an issue
The 350z is ok not a patch on the Jag. The crossfire is based on a merc slk and total *****, Clarkson reckons it's shaped like a dog having a forest Gump!
For 10k there's some awesome stuff out there just take your time and don't rush in.
If you want performance in a 4 door saloon car you gotta get a Subaru Imprezza STi ppp, 0-60 in 5 seconds 155mph and awesome handling, fuel consumption is a bit low but if you want performance you cant have economy.
I had a Honda Accord Type R which was a terrific car, but I decided to sell it before the mileage racked up (I do 500 per week).
I looked around for ages and eventually settled on a BMW 325 Coupe which looks gorgeous and goes well (despite being an Auto). You could also pick up the same car with a soft top for around 10K which is just Automotive porn, like this http://pictures.autotrader.co.uk/imgser-uk/ser vlet/media?id=722910989
sorry scoob, cool car for a t&rt, not a Geezer wagon I'm afraid, Now the VW minaro latest version should get an awsome one for 10K deako. Deako, you there, let us know en you get a wagon.
Of course for real performance you need, you need...... an R1!
Trouble is, whislt the Subarus and Evos of this world have fantastic performance, they are as ugly as a bag of spanners (although beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess).
First of all my STi is stunning, cant go anywhere without people ogling it.
R1 geezer stick to bikes I d be amazed if you can get a decent Manaro for 10k.
mdoo98 what sort of performance car does 200+ miles on 20 ??????????
