my key cant turn

my key opens the door but it cant turn when its on the ignition and sterring feels locked too whats the problem

Have you tried to move the steering wheel slightly with the key in the ignition = that may free the steering lock

It`s pretty obvious that the steering is pushing against the lock as tubeway says - this often happens when parking at an angle. Easy enough to take the strain off and then the key will turn.

Sometimes a drop of WD40 on the key will help otherwise you may have to have a new ignition lock fitted.

I suspect mic6 might be right � I had this problem with an old Ford, since the Ford key cut was identical (top & bottom), it worked in the ignition in one orientation only.

Might be time to get a fresh key cut.

The question says Key won`t turn AND steering locked which is why the first two answers make sense.

When my Ford key was worn � it would not turn in the lock and if the steering lock had operated, it felt locked.
