Driving With-out Insurance

Yesterday evening my gf and i were driving home from a friends house. We got 5 minutes away from our house and my gf was starting to fall asleep at the wheel, I told her to pull over and let me drive the rest, I have a full License and am insured 3rd party only on my vehicle. 2 minutes away from our house the police pull me over and begin questioning because they thought i was driving a little fast, I was within the speed limit but regardless they discovered i was not insured to drive, hense driving with out insurance. I have to take my insurance details in to local police station etc etc. I understand I will recieve a fine and 6 points on my license, I have had my licesnse for 1 year and 11 months to date so this means that my license will also be revoked. I have two questions, 1) how long will my license be revoked for until i can re apply for my test? and 2) Because my gf gave me permission to drive her car, what will happen to her? Will she recieve any points or fine etc? Any advice would be muchly appreciated

You can apply for your test as soon as you have passed your theory test, which you can apply for as soon as you have your provisional licence.

Your girlfriend could be prosecuted for causing/permitting you to drive uninsured, which carries the same penalties as driving without insurance
