Recommend a new small car to a mother

I'm planning on buying a new car in April/May. I want to get it from new, I only want a small car, low insurance but with good boot space for a pushchair. Can anyone recommend something?

My friend bought a Nissan Micra when she had her son. There's plenty of space for a pushchair and some shopping in the boot.

Im pretty sure you would have a problem fitting a pushchair in the boot of my Ka! lol
My mum has a Honda Jazz which is pretty good for boot space and the back seats go right down so you have bags of room if you needed it. Its also a really nice car to drive (i think I remember it getting quite good reviews on TopGear if that makes a difference too).
It is a 5 door (which would be easier with cars seats etc)but its still pretty small and really good on emissions i think so low tax and insurance isnt bad either.

take your pushchair with you when out looking. Youll be amazed at how many cars wont take a lot of pushchairs easily. And you wont want a carrycot shoved on back seat or mucky wheels from the pushchair.

of course, if youve just got an umbrella fold pushchair then they fit in most cars.

Pug 307 Plenty of space, good layout, petrol consumption good, depends on engine size (Low Tax) front area spacious, maintenance very very good, boot space excellent.

Honda frv-mpv - 3 seats in fron and 3 in back so like a people carrier but still a small car. Good reliable make and safe.
