Hi again, hibeeslass:
I obviously have no idea of your budget, but do you realise that you could for example get a brand new car for probably not much more than your deal for this one would come to?
There are a few bargain basement cars which I wouldn't recommend but, for example, you could get a brand new Fiat Panda for around 5600 just now. Lovely little cars, 5 door, well equipped, very cheap to run and insure, and very well thought of by the motoring press.
Assuming that you may get around 1600 for your car selling it privately, add on the 2800 you've got in mind as balance for the 5 year old Clio, and you're little over a thousand quid short of a brand new car.
Just a thought, but if your budget's up to it, there are some very reputable online brokers (there are also a few dodgy ones!) who are worth looking at.
There's a good one called Carfile.net which is where I found the Fiat Panda. They're a family run business and there are no catches with them. It's up to you but just something for you to consider.
But if you'd rather go ahead with the Clio I'd either ask for a few hundred more for yours or a few hundred off the Clio.
Hope this has been of help. Good luck and good night.
