Errr, head gasket, or top end set? (well you may as well change the lot while you've got it in pieces)

I'd guess, about 30 for gasket, 50-60 for full set (though it has been a few years since I've changed one)

Or do you mean fitted by somebody else?

100 cashjob Chuck...get in there
Got fed up of playing with cars in the cold, covered in oil and bashing knuckles to pieces years ago Elvis, no way will I do it for anyone else these days!

At least with computers it's in the warm and dry most the time and knuckles only get a few scratches, not smashed! :)
I know what you mean Chuck, I used to weld motors for the mechanic next door to me and although it was good money for an hours work, laying under a motor grinding off the rust and grease just to weld up a hole the size of a 5p coin just didn`t appeal to me
about 20 quid from halfords lol

Fitted by someone else. My sons' car, towed in after blowing the head gasket. Just wanting to see what is the going rate to have it repared.

The gasket itself is very cheap - perhaps less than 20. But it's quite a big job to have the new gasket fitted and that's where there is a high cost.

If the car is a low mileage and is in good condition it might be worth getting it done, otherwise I'd flog it cheap for spare or repair, punt it through an auction, or even scrap it.
