is it common knowledge that you can reach BOTH sides of a car with the hoses at petrol stations?

many times i have been held up by queues of people waiting for a pump to be free on the side their cap is on... is this not widely known?

i will pull alongside any pump and often have to use the swinging overhead arm or pull the pipe alot further out but the trick is to pull alot further forward if it is on the off side and pull the hose around the back of the car, well it works for my peugeot doing it that way, alot easier. I see loads of people queuing for the right side lol dafties

there is a petrol station near me where they don't reach and I always forget till im trying desperately to stretch over and then have to get back in my car, reverse and wait for another spot!

if you get close enough they will almost all reach...unless your petrol cap is in the middle of thevehicle or something...but thats not that common

Sometimes, joko, i sit in the car at petrol stations wondering why i'm in a queue for petrol, when there are at least 4 empty pumps, with no blockage to get to them.......just people enter the station heading for a certain pump!.

Yes both sides do it.....no problems!!.............just park as near to the other side as possible.......rear end passed the pump and it will be easy to get over the top to fuel up!

These ones definitely don't reach, thought it was just me but spoke to my friend who works there and she confirms they don't. Think they were badly designed as there appears to be enough hose but it is all coiled very tightly away and if you try pulling it out it just doesn't move!
