why does my 1 year old Golf sometimes open the windows when I use the car remote to lock it?

^^^try Zacsmaster's suggestion.....or if no joy....ring VW and ask them for opinion.........could be something small that parts dept can sort out......little or no cost involved....and good luck.
The car is air tight Montabano, if you are talking about when you close the door & OFF/S window drops then closes when you use the remote to lock the car.
I take it you have a key with a fold in end,and has (a lock button,boot button and an unlock button).
Keeping the LOCK BUTTON in depressed postion closes sunroof and windows.
Keeping the UNLOCK BUTTON in depressed position opens windows. so its either this button is sticking or you are holding it down longer than required.
I used to own a VW Sharan with no remote so I used a key to open doors with central locking , once in a while I would lock the doors and the front windows would open. This must be a VW issue phone contact your dealer.
