I'd been a named driver on my partner's insurance for donkey's years - when he died I phoned the insurance company and they gave me the full no claims discount.
carrot99 the insurance company worked under the 'named driver gains NCB each year' policy.
Some insurance companies allow named drivers to gain NCB each year, I shall say no more.
ok thanks McTropicana.

firepoppy were you a named driver?

I drove a company car for five years. When I changed jobs and had to buy my own car the insurance company that covered the company car allowed me the five years no claims. i think it's all a bit of a grey area and down to the company involved.
