no mot

ahh i was given a producer by a local policeofficer today ,got home to find that the mot ran out a few days ago although i do have a letter from local garage saying it runs out on january the 19th whats likely to happen

You have 7 days to produce your documents.. longer if they grant you an extention (e.g because you are waiting for documents from dvla). If your MOT certificate says it has run out then I take it that is the case and you could be prosecuted for driving a car with no MOT.

If this garage has written you a letter, then take your car as soon as possible and get a new MOT on it.. provided the date shown is earlier than the day you got stopped, or the date the previous mot ran out is after you got stopped and written on the new mot certificate, then you should get away with it.

same happened to me, i got cautioned at the police station then i got a fine through for ninety pounds,once that was paid it was all finished with.
