boot has gone heavy, normally when i open it it goes up and stays there, now it doesn't go up unless i push it up, but i have to hold it there, if i don't it will fall and bang shut, also it feels very heavy when i push it up? what's up with it and what will it cost to repair? thanks

The gas struts have, you can pick up a new pair for around £40.00 usually. Try putting vauxhall meriva gas struts into google and you will soon find some. good luck :-)
