The original Mini was front wheel drive, but the new one, being a BMW labelled as a Mini will probably be rear wheel.

Front Wheel Drive (although BMW are experimenting with a Four Wheel Drive version)

Minis have and always will be front wheel drive, However there have been a few modifies minis that have been rear of all wheel drive, but these were custom engineered jobs, I once even saw a Drift mini, goddamn that thing was awesome!!!
