As far as I know it's 70mph, I certainly don't recall seeing any other speed limit signs. I was hoping someone with 'local' knowledge would have an answer. But thanks for your time.
At last someone who knows the national speed limit on a dual. I can't believe the number of people who brake for speed cameras even when they are doing 60. I've seen some slow down from 50.
Thanks. I know about the roadworks and the 40 limit and the cameras. The bit I'm interested in has no roadworks. Just a bloody mobile camera, I was doing 70 and hope that was the right speed for this stretch. I really don't want to get 3 points again. Especially after seeing some of the idiots between Falmouth and Bristol.
There are single carriageway, single carriagway two-lane and dual cariageway on a30. From what I can imagine, the police tend to be on the dual lane single carraigeway where people often think they can do 70 because there are two lanes. But no central reservation means 60 - single cariageway. If you were on one of these stretches - you would've been speeding.
It's really up to you to be aware of the speed limit for the particular road you happen to be on at the time. Around here we have a 30mph dual carriageway and a 50mph motorway. Crazy but true.....just remember that the Highway Code is not law.
