i was traveling along a road which had a speed camera on the opposite side of the road facing me when i went through it it flashed. Would it be flashing me or trafic on the same side as the camera.
If it flashed and you were the only one to pass - it's a good chance it could be you it flashed at ! If you were alongside and with other cars - it may be that it was one of the others.
Did you not immediately look at your speed and check against what the limit on that stretch was ? If you were within the limit - again it's a good bet that you weren't the one who made it flash.
If the speed camera had two small circular holes and one square hole in it and there were hatched marking on the road then it would flash at traffic going the other way.If the camera had a single large circular hole in it and there was one white line across the road then it would be flashing at you.
There are different types of speed camera. If it was the Gatso type, the one with the yellow box, then you should be in the clear as they record your speed after passing it. Sometimes when they are faulty they flash you on approach and a ticket is not issued. This has happened to me on a number of occasions so is not a rare event.
If the camera only covered the other side of the road and not the side you were travelling on (and there were no calibration marks on your side of the road you should be ok
We have one near here which flashes trafifc going in the other direction which it doesnt cover. The answer is that some of the later cameras do flash when the camera itself is not installed. I.E if it doesnt flash when you go past it in the opposite direction watch it when you come back because the camera is installed
