Speeding Fines

I have just been done for speeding by a mobile van. When I viewed the photographic evidence on the internet there was a picture of the rear of the car which makes me think the van was facing me. I don't actually remember seeing it. If the rear of the van is facing you, you see the flourescent strips and it usually makes you slow down just in case. If I was done from the rear of the van as I passed, is this allowed? Are all pictures of the rear or are they usually the front of the vehicle. I am gutted, a clean licence for 23 years.

If you are like most of us, that is 23 years not being caught, not 23 years innocent. Sounds to me like you were speeding and are just trying to avoid getting caught, so I suggest you accept the inevitable and pay up and collect your points.

It's incorrect to suppose that all these vehicles have see easy markings on them. They mostly don't. They're not there to warn us of their presence, they're there to detect speeders, hence their titles "speed detector vans"?

It's very common to see them parked up with their rear doors open and the camera pointing out. That's obviously what happened to you and it's an acceptable practice.

You'll just have to bite the bullet and take your medicine. Or else you can lodge a complaint but your chances of success I'd say are less than nil.
