I have a freeview set and can video the digital channel using AV2 when watching this channel, but can you please tell me how I video a the freeview channel when I dont have the freeview switched on (same as when you video on analogue when switched off) it doesnt seem to work, or maybe I am doing something wrong

The freeview box MUST be switched on and set to the channel you wish to record.

It is different for analogue as your recorder has its own analogue tuner and is not dependent on recording from the tv.
