Hi tony- it was Captain that asked you that.
I like my Northern Sould tony but I'm not an expert and my ears cannot spot a that much difference between Invitations and Wigan's Ovation and between Chosen Few and Wigan's Chosen Few. The B side of WCF introduced me to teh fantastic Chuck Wood Seven Days Too Long.
I was never a great fan of clubs to be honest- I loved music but couldn't have a conversation and the beer was never the best, and I was always too self conscious on the dance floor as I was rubbish

Feel free to post what floor fillers you were dancing too at your venues and any stories attached to them :-)
So it was, sorry about that Cap'n.

No beer at Wigan Casino,ff. No alcohol after 12, something to do with the Sunday licensing laws at that time.
I was never one for dancing but loved the music so I usually ended up behind the turntables for school/college discos and some parties
No beer at Wigan casino tony- and yet the floors in the gents was always like a swimming pool (don't know why they didn't put Talc down in there to soak it up)

FF, Know a great Northern Soul DJ called Gene Robertson who has just about every NS tune ever made. ....his gigs are ace. We regularly go to each others gigs for support whenever possible. :-)
Those Casino bogs are legendary, ff !

How did you stop your feet from moving to those northern soul sounds ?.

Were does Gene Robinson gig, yogi ?.
Like fiction-factory, I was never a fan of clubs and was self-conscious about dancing.
Alcohol and 'Dancing Queen' would get me up there, though.
C'mon then jo, you dancin ?.

I use to frequent Whisky a go go in the West End and the Marquee where I saw the Small Faces!

I'm jealous.
This was one of my favourite get on the floor and build a wall fillers, said I came to it late :-)

Thanks, tonyav. I loved that. If this had been posted a couple of days ago while OH was away, I'd have been dancing around the house. As it is, I just wiggled in my armchair and sang quite loudly. He's quite deaf, so he didn't notice. :))

The Gorleston Ocean Rooms, bet shaney knows those, near the front...In the Belle Vue, the gorgeous Heather with curves to die for, and on to the club, a dance and the rest remains private.
late 72 and 73 by the way, and then there was Theresa, staying in my digs, just up on the embankment and on Avondale Road......
