I'd go with Honey by Bobby Goldsboro although its almost funny....in a sick sort of way....
Talking of that song hw, I went to the funeral last year of my son's best mate - a 27 year old lad who had died in a building site accident where he had broken his neck & a wheelbarrow of bricks had crused his aorta.
At his funeral they played "Tell Laura I Love Her" - his fiancee was called Laura. The whole church broke down.
Ironically it was Ricky Valance.

Strange but I saw the Gordan Lightfoot track on something recently -
Bobby Russell wrote Honey after his wife died, he also wrote Watching Scotty Grow. he died young himself as I recall,

I think it's the circumstanses that lead to tears in heaven that makes it such a sad song. Without knowing the background it's still an amazing bit of music but nowhere near as poignant.

Trigger.... I think warrior's dance is a lot more melancholy than firestarter :)
I didn't know that dotty...got goosebumps now
I have just read your post Salla - I am in tears myself now
