Nik Kershaw - The Riddle

I`ve just seen Nik Kershaw at a music festival tonight. Not my cup of tea but anyway - the friend I went with has been gradually replacing her vinyl collection with CDs and the only one she can`t get is Nik Kershaw`s The Riddle. It`s on the US ebay for about $39. Why would an album like that be so expensive? Would it be because there weren`t many made or was it not available in the UK?

'The Riddle' was released in 1984 when very few people had CD players. (The very first CD album was only released towards the end of 1982 and CD players were still quite expensive). It's possible that was never even released on CD in the UK.

Anyone, I'm not having you knocking Nik. He was one of my favourite 2nd year kids when I was a prefect in the Upper Sixth, charged with trying to keep him and his mates in order at lunchtimes in the Junior Library!
