Thanks for the info re: LTROI remake. Couldn't bring myself to watch it as the original was so perfect and there are some films that just CANNOT be re-made. Did think about it when I read the guy who wrote the book was very pleased with the US version as well as the original, but I just couldn't.

To be fair em10, Thomas Newman, Craig Armstrong, Hans Zimmer and Rob Dougan are all classically trained. Yes, they make film scores but to me 'classical' doesn't just mean Bach, Strauss, Rachmaninov etc.

After all, when they (Bach etc) composed their pieces in their particular era's their music would have been classed as 'pop' as not all of it was for operas and it was contemporary.

Listen to Escape by Craig Armstrong. It would definitely be called classical IMHO.

she is overated and wouldn't cut it on the opera stage. If you want great, then many like Callas are on here.

well I would say that will be the cutting position on her, when she does her first full opera...and then we will see, It is now just about overdue as she said when she is 30, as to maturity of voice, well she is nearly 31
