About 5 years ago I got quite hooked on the Rockin with Suzi Q series on Radio 2. I've managed to trace some of the tracks I remember hearing on there but I can't find one, despite lots of Googling. Unfortunately I don't have much to go on but I'm hoping it rings a bell with someone on here.

It was quite a risque track for its time (probably got banned) and it featured a female vocalist who at a couple of points was panting "Aagh, Aagh,Aagh... " and then gave a little scream and said something like "Oooh Johnny". There may have been a male singer too but all the panting was done by a girl.

I've looked back at the playlists section on the radio 2 site but it has only a few episodes on there and doesn't cover this episode. I've also googled the lyrics as I vaguely remember them

as a last resort, try getting in touch with the beeb; they probably have more playlists than go on the website.

Sorry, I can't help; aagh ooh johnny isn't enough to go on.
I have a good memory for 50s and 60s stuff Factor but I can't bring anything to mind with Oooh Johnny and panting,,,haha

Thanks jno- I was just wondering if someone else remembered hearing it and knew the track. I know it's a long shot
our parents probably changed stations when anything like that came on the radio, bobbi.
Guess what factor! My partner is a bit of a rockabilly and I got only to the risque bit of your post (which I was reading out to him) and he immediately went to his itunes and said stop - listen to this and see if it's what he's after and I think it is 'Little Girl' by John and Jackie - apparently (on itunes and amazon). Features on an album too called 'Rockabilly Insanity'
Couldn't have been the 50's , people just didn't do that kind of thing then. ;-)
very likely jno
bit like the double entendre that was in Captain Pugwash :-)
ah, the Captain Pugwash story was a spoof, bobbi, invented by a TV critic, Victor Lewis Smith I think, about 20 years ago.

Wow, thanks, Prudie, jno and everyone else.
This must be the one, unless there was another version of the song where they said "ooh Johnny" rather than "ooh little boy"

Was it a bit risque for the time?
arhh, I much preferred my version of C'pn Pug and his team jno..lol

Prudie- please thank your partner for him.
I've listened a few times and it is definitely the one Suzi Q played.
I wonder whether it was played on the radio in 1958?
