the breathing is terrible and the tone is all the same, no softening the way Karen could do it, there needs to be a gentle mellowness with a sadness that sound sgenuine not forced

yeah i tottally agree dotty! i suppose its a song i heard all through my childhood and tried to sing it and couldent! yeah its not natural its to forced ur right! the way karen sings it softly sadly beautifully! i just dont have that type of voice and was trying to have!

your voice would suit singing it abit faster, with more of a Helen Reddy style, i think she did cover this one

You chose a difficult one to sing there Laura - it was a good effort and you got more into it as it went on .
I wouldn't delete it - see what other comments you get .
I think the brighter "Only Yesterday " or " Top of the World " would suit you better .

I don't think your voice suits that type of song - you sounded too nasal to me and not as if you were singing from your stomach. I DO think you have a reasonable voice that might benefit from singing lessons. I also think you are terribly brave. If I put a song on you tube it would crash.

Dotty i agree! the trouble with karaoke is its in the same style and key as the original makin it impossible to change! thats why i never do karaoke lol! you live and learn :)

Have you ever thought of making a CD and selling it - locally or on ebay? You have talent and it would be such a waste if we were the only ones who got to hear you.

Singing lessons or a choir would be a great idea. I know what you have said in the past about being shy, but the first time would be the worst.
