/// By the way AOG - if Ferdinand was to be punished by the PFA, then couldn't it be argued that they should've punished all the payers who refused to take part in the anti-homophobia campaign a coupe of years ago: ///
/// What's your stance on this? ///
I wondered when you would manage to incorporate a homophobic issue into this, especially when gay footballers refuse to come out of the closet.
No I am about fed up with these PC issues coming into the game, these over-paid Prima Donnas are spoiling the game with their touchy feelings, they should lean to get on with what they are paid for, instead of bothering themselves with what the crowds are shouting.
Where there are mass crowds, things sometimes get heated and one cannot control what they are libel to shout out, for example they could be making insulting remarks against a ginger haired player or some other player who has upset them perhaps for playing dirty for instance, or whoop to put an opposing player off from taking a penalty or aggressively insulting the referee for what they have decided was a wrong decision that he has made.
It's all part of this type of game.
You are never going to get a football crowd to just sit still and clap occasion, just like they do at Wimbledon, and no matter what measures are brought out.
/// I'm assuming that you believe Ferdinand should be punished somehow (because you asked "What should Rio Ferdinand's punishment be?", rather than "Should Rio Ferdinand be punished for this?") ///
It was Ferguson who said, "“He has let us down. We will deal with it, don’t worry about that.” not I.
But yes if he is guilty of refusing to obey his Manager's and Club's request, then yes he should be punished, but how that is a matter for Ferguson.
