cd's for a party

Im gonna make a few compilation cd's for an upcoming family party. Could everyone recommend a song or two each...songs that everyone will have heard and be able to dance/sing along to???

Please help as my mind has officially drawn a blank.

Not personal taste, just that I have done a few family party disco's, and these never fail to 'get em up'!

alternatively google or look on amazon for compilations called 'family favourites', 'party classics' etc and nick/incorporate their choices!

The very thought of 'family party music', 'wedding reception discos' and the like, is enough to put me in a persistent vegetative state !!

 I help run www.juicedisco.co.uk  we always for the last song get everyone to form a circle ( stop the music) and end with My Way by Frank. Cheesy I know but everyone goes home happy.

70S Disco is always a winner but Reach by S Club 7 is a floorfiller

Any original version of the many songs covered by boy-bands. The older ones will know the originals, and it's great to see the look on the younger one's faces when they think someone has had the cheek to cover their favourite boy-band's greatest hit.

Then of course there's 'Come On Eileen' by Dexy's Midnight Runners, 'Hi Ho Silver Lining' by'...... No, sorry got to stop before brain death sets in.

At a family gathering last year 'Never Gonna Give You Up' by Rick Astley filled the floor as did 'Dancing Queen' by Abba. Other popular ones were 'Mambo No 5' by Lou Bega, 'It's Raining Men' The Weather Girls, 'Hey Baby' by D J Otzi, 'I Want You Back', Jackson 5, 'Oops Upside Your Head' by The Gap, Band, 'Wake Me Up Before You Go Go' by Wham and 'Shout' by Lulu.

We couldn't believe that all the 'young uns' ie teenagers and kids knew how to row to Oops Upside Your Head, but they did!
