In a perfect world, Connie, one-to-one is the only way to learn an instrument. The difference is, as you know, an hour's private tuition is around £25-30 per hour.
The lesson itself should only be the tip of the iceberg in the learning process. The real work is done at home ...... practice, and lots of it.
I've always found that personal contact is largely for setting up next week's work, and re-visiting last week's, to see if you're progressing.
Oh - and having some fun as well :o)
£40 per term is quite a bargain to get you started. You can always go "private" later if you progress.
