Even though I tend to think of myself as someone who generally keeps abreast with the current trends I have to say I've only heard of 6 of the 12 acts up for the prize.

IMHO the Arctic Monkeys deserve it, but we'll see.

I only know 2, Arctic Monkeys and Jake Bugg, and I only know him because my mate's son went to see him in concert last week so I investigated.

I think Laura Mvuala (spelling?) will win rather than an established name. This track got a lot of airplay earlier this year.
I have only heard of half of them- Arctic Monkeys, Bowie are established of course and Foals, Jake Bugg, Rudimental and Disclosure have had a lot of success with singles this year.
