Blimey, I am earlier than boaty. He'll be along shortly. I expect.
Very windy but dry outside.
Busy day in prospect. A dog show thirty miles away in the morning. It's gundogs today, and I have been asked to find a bitch cocker spaniel puppy. So far, I have tried over thirty breeders on the Kennel Club list and found just three pups, from two litters at the same breeder. So it's down to networking through dogdom; someone will know someone who knows someone, and so on; and ending up with a pup from the north of Scotland. It always works that way; one of the wolfhounds came from there.
After that, Cambridge panto for the matinee. I shall go alone. No friend or family member fancies it. I have promised them I won't wear my dirty mac or carry a bag of sweets. I go every year to a panto somewhere. Apart from the corniness, it's such a delight to see children experiencing what is often their first experience of live theatre. (Ooh, look, that person off the telly is a real person ! And that's a band, not just guitars and drums or synthesisers!)
morning boaty and jeffa ...I'll gladly swap for some rain, always in the market for that but you can keep the wind, we've had enough of our own just recently, thanks.
Having a quiet one today, catching up on some chores and tidying the place after the last batch and before the next tribe arrive for New Years. Cor I'll not be sorry when it's over this year, I must be getting old !!
i work at lohn lewis wbm and 6 weeks leading up to xmas they open 1 hour early that gives us only 3 hours instead of 4 to get everything done all a mad rush
So am I mate. We always go to bed early and read. Can't be doing with it. :o}
The sensible time for the new year is 1st May. As it used to be. That's what May day is all about. It was moved by the church to try and stop the pagan festivals.
