The original artists were the cast of the musical 'Hair' in 1967, but The Fifth Dimension had a hit with the medley 'Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In' . It reached number 11 in the charts  April 1969.

The rest of their stuff is fairly mediocre. Great compilation album called "Groovey Baby" by various artists on amazon.co.uk second hand for a few quid. Rest of CD is excellant too

I think you mean The Fifth Dimension! The version on the ad is by Ronald Dyson from the 1968 Broadway cast of Hair - not sure if this is the "original" version though.
