How she got famous was fun, but I've never rated her as a singer. How has she remained in the limelight with such an ordinary voice?

I have no great high opinions of these so called "stars". IF they were to write their own music, own arrangements/ scores, own lyrics then , yes, maybe I would rate them but as it is, all they do is come on the telly and do a karaoke act.
Sorry, but that's not great talent.

Perhaps it's good PR that promotes her " underdog image" that appeals to people". She's huge in Japan and does quite well in the USA especially with older middle class woman. There is no accounting for our likes and dislikes. I can't stand Elvis. I'm old enough to remember him from the beginning and to put it mildly he just wasn't my cup of tea.

I think she has a LOVELY voice..who cares about her looks...which have certainly improved since achieving fame.
Wish I could sing like her!!!

She has just had a very successful tour of America, so she must be doing something right. She doesn't have the best voice, but it is good.
