The local radio station is playing I Have Only Have Eyes For You by Art Garfunkel. I had completely forgotten about that song. Which songs bring back memories from your youth?

I don't have any happy songs from my youth, I was a Goth - all black clothes, tragic messy dyed hair and oozing misery and angst (and don't remember actually being miserable either).
Still love it!!

The other day, I was talking to a colleage and she said that we were so lucky to be born when there was such good music about. I agree with her.

I'm back there in 1965, a 17 year old with the world at my feet, mum and dad were telling me to get a job but I wanted to be a hippy ....... looking back they were right and I was wrong, but there's nothing wrong with having dreams.
Guaranteed to still make me want to get up and strut ma stuff!

An era when most tunes had a message & singers were tuneful. These days apart from a few really good tunes which come over occasionally there is an awful lot of garbage.
I remember my mum saying the exact same thing in the late 70's onwards regarding music Ron.

I have a theory that we tend to stick the music of our youth, and anything beyond that we consider crap and can't wrap our heads round. It's a cruel reminder that music (popular) is for the young and not for us old farts.
Oh BOO so true !!

Bobby Fuller about 1966 I think. I Fought The Law. Which of course was covered by the Clash, amongst others. Oh and Boo, I for one have not got stuck in the music of my youth. I love some of the new stuff. Keep rocking folks.
