The local radio station is playing I Have Only Have Eyes For You by Art Garfunkel. I had completely forgotten about that song. Which songs bring back memories from your youth?

allus one isn't there?

I did say TEND, of course my theory can't be applied to everyone im fully aware of that and thought i'd covered it in my comment- obviously not...
Oooops..... That's what happens when you touch an old farts nerve. Suppose you still have your Dansette 45 deck and a Grundig tape machine. Maybe Lois Armstrong playing When You're Smiling Can help. [^_=]
Shuddup :P
Thanks for posting that Youtube for me, Tony. I love that song, brings back so many happy memories.
Ha ha BOO. Better get myself sorted before 'she who must be obeyed' gets back home. She is dragging me off to meet the man who is gonna sort out my cataracts.
>"An era when most tunes had a message & singers were tuneful. These days apart from a few really good tunes which come over occasionally there is an awful lot of garbage."

Yes, I remember Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep, Dick a dum dum, Doo wah didee, etc.

Only joking. But whilst there is a lot of garbage (to us) currently I think that's always been the case. There's a lot of good music in the charts even now in my opinion (I could name 10 off the top of my head-Ed Sheeran, Hozier, Years and Years, etc) and there's other stuff that sounds garbage to me but kids genuinely love it (Fetty Wap, for example)

I do long for the days though when you could safely play a song and not hear lots of four letter words or bleeped out words
I know that i have now grown up to be a star Fleet Captain and i can't really admit to having a soppy side to me - but don't tell anybody , especially her indoors.

This song brings back memories for me because it was 'our' song for me and my girlfriend when we were at school .

We used to listen for it to be played on the radio , before we left for school , each morning .
When we met up at school , the first thing we said to each other was
' did you hear it this morning '

I don't dislike modern day music but I think a lot of it is boring, suppose that's just another branch of the old farts tree.
here it is

I don't know what's made me recall this .. I think my dad played it? ... Or may be it was floating around when I was young ... either way .. it brings comfort somehow ..
