Marc Bolan
Marc Bolan died 39 years ago today. Scary eh? I keep meaning to go and see where he died as it`s not far from here. His music was way ahead of it`s time and it hasn`t dated.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and I seriously regret not going to see T. Rex when they played in Hanley – which is hear where I live as well. But they were a ‘teenybopper’ band, and beneath my lofty ‘prog’ retentions. Now, Electric Warrior’ is one of my favourite albums, and I would have loved to have seen Bolan strutting his stuff. That is filed along with my later love of Northern Soul music, which I didn’t have when The Torch was open just a few miles away, and I could have gone to Wigan Casino, and never did.
And then there was Marc's northern soul girlfriend, Andy !.

Yes quite surprising isn't she.
I must say that at the time that their relationship became public I couldn't get my head around it. I couldn't quite understand that the queen of northern soul
( at that time ) whose record 'Tainted Love' used to fill the Casino dance floor had taken up with a Glam rocker.
