I used to pass "that tree" on my commute in the 80s - it was always plastered with tributes. Looking at Google Street View it seems to have been chopped down, replaced by a small shrine.

I watched YouTube vids of some of his TOTP performances recently. I could understand why my dad grumbled about him, I had never noticed just how tight his trousers were. Not just meat and 2 veg - the whole Sunday lunch is on display :D

I'm glad it was just grumbling in your house - when my dad saw him with the glitter on his cheeks, shaking his cirls, he nearly had a thrombosis on the spot!!

My daughters have never been able to enjoy the experience of pop music simultaiously bonding them with their peers whilst alienating their parents, I either enjoyed the same music that they did, and if it wasn;t to my taste, I simply ignored it.

Phrases like "Call this music?????" never once passed my lips!

I still have all the T Rex singles and some albums also some of the older Tyrannosaurus ones that he did with Steve Peregrin Took. Those were the days.
