Some on here already know my taste in music,Dean Martin, PerryComo, johnny mathis,so i am an old fogie, BUT listening to Sting on strictly last night was a disgrace and yet he was cheered or maybe that was for the dancers,my point is surely we cant call that music.

I didn't see it, but if it was sound made by musical instruments, then we have to call it music, because that is what it is.

Whether it is good or bad music, that is to a degree a matter of taste.
Totally agree,I think they are told to cheer though.
I'm not his greatest fan and I thought the song repetitive, he has endured and has many fans - so we most definitely can call it music.

Thank goodness we all have varied tastes.
Just listened - the song is a bit bland, but has Sting had is teeth fixed - badly?

The artists you mention Jordyboy have lovely smooth, chill out voices. So I should imagine anything that is ' 'different' could be a culture shock sometimes......
Jordyboy - we have cross-posted, and as you can see, I have seen the clip.

It is too bland for my taste, but I was riveted to the movements of Sting's mouth.

If he has had dentures fitted, he needs to go back - they've given him the wrong ones!
