Cross Torn Down...
... on Greek island because it may cause offence to migrants!

I wanted to draw attention to this, I could have chosen one of several more outspoken articles, but this will suffice.
I suggest that Douglas Murray's, best-selling (and alarming) new book, 'The Strange Death of Europe' may be apt, would you not agree?

Greek history is very strange isn’t it:
‘Another important fact in the history of Lesvos was the year 1922, when the refugees of Asia Minor came to the island and gave a new economical and cultural flourishment to the local society. To honour the refugees, the authorities have created the statue of Asia Minor Mother in Mytilene Source: www.greeka.com

Zacs-master //I can read perfectly well, Khandro. I can read a controversial and completely infactual headline made up by the newspaper. And then I can read the actual quote.//
I despair! not only can you not read; nothing is "made-up", you are now re-writing the copy - I must ask once again, what is your purpose?

Don’t despair, Khandro. Just read what the people actually said rather than a made up headline from a paper with an axe to grind.
How can you conflate ‘offensive to immigrants’ with the actual quote which reads ‘mostly offensive to the symbol of christianity’?
You must spend hours trawling the web for such stories to aid your belief that Europe is being taken over by immigrants. Shame this one has blown up in your face.

If that was addressed to me I assure you I have read the story in it's entirety.
From what I have seen in the media when these immigrants first landed their invasion was facillitated and encouraged be these so-called coexistance groups who were not even natives of Lesbos or even Greek. They are mainly ex pats from other countries.
Who are they to dictate what the Greek authorities can erect on their beaches. It is a Greek Orthodox religion (Christian). If these interfering do gooders feel these immigrants will be offended by a Christian symbol then they must direct these invaders to a Muslim country which will,no doubt, show less tolerance than the Greeks have had to endure.

Which people and which paper ?? Nobody says that in the OP and the paper is Greek, and I didn't "spend hours" finding it, just a few seconds following up the story.
If you believe that it is right to remove the cross because it may offend migrants, - and you are entitled to your opinion - then man-up and say so, giving you reasons for that assertion, otherwise you are being tiresome and making a fool of yourself - (which isn't difficult).

Including the link I have counted no less than three times this:
A huge cement Christian cross, which was built on the rocky shore of Apelli, under the castle of Mytilene in Lesvos, in honour of the people that have died swimming there has been pulled down as a co-existence group based on the island claimed// it was offensive to migrants who are not Christian.//
