Rip Peter Tork From The Monkees
22 Answers
Peter has died after suffering from tongue cancer.
Another sad loss.
The Monkees were hugely underrated as a band - apart from their amazing line of hits from Boyce and Hart, their own songs were fabulous.
Micky Dolenz has one of the finest rock and roll voices I have ever heard anywhere.
Peter played the 'dorky' one, but off camera he was vociferous in his complaints about being manipulated by the studio bosses.
Very sad.

Indeed he did, he has had a very successful solo career.
He must be one of the few people to generate (well and receive!) four individual high income streams.
As a young man he inherited $15 million dollars from his mother's estate, she gave half to him and half to charity - as a secretary, she invented and patented paper correction fluid.
Nesmith then joined the Monkees, and enjoyed huge success with them.
After the demise of the band, Nesmith was instrumental in and invested in the invention of music video television, which morphed into MTV.
And now he has a successful solo career as a songwriter and guitarist.
Cool huh!
