not reading one at the moment, but I did enjoy David Niven's 'The Moons a Balloon' and the second one, but not as much as the first.
Any bio by Kitty Kelley! She delivers warts and all. She has written about Frank Sinatra, Liz Taylor, Oprah, Diana Ross and I can vouch for her. I picked mine up in the charity shop and was sceptical at first, but interesting reading.
I really enjoyed Craig Revel Horwoods autobiography. I don’t usually go for these types of books but I quickly changed my mind after reading it.

Thank you. The two that stick in my mind that I have read Norman Wisdoms one also the one about Jim Davidson, both well worth reading.
not every ones cup of tea but Ozzy Osbornes autobiography is one to be read. Laughed my *rse off reading it.
peter ustinov's autobiography is good
( very good set pieces, not necessarily true but very funnily written)

Barbarossa - about the german invasion of russia is not so much biog but is good anyway
I enjoyed Michelle Obama’s book.
'Mein kampf' is a riot and is the biggest seller in the Muslim world after the Koran.
Nailit, i've read and re-read Ozzy's autobiography. And, no doubt, i'll read it again some time soon. Hilarious. Trouble is - and he points this out at the beginning - what he says took place may not have been quite as he tells it. But it is how he remembers it. I'm surprised he can remember anything at all from that period of his life :-)
^^ only joking.

'Everything I Know About Love' by Dolly Alderton is great, and has become a surprise bestseller in hardback and now paperback:

Spike Milligan's is a good read. DO NOT read Michael Caine's - he's so far up his own arris it's sickening. Just my opinion mind you.
Frank Skinner's books - I think there are two - are amazingly good reads, even if you don;t like his comedy.
If you're a fan of Bruce Springsteen (and even if you're not) his autobiography 'Born To Run' is really interesting and well-written - and not a ghost writer to be seen.
I also enjoyed David Niven " The Moons a Balloon"
Adolf Hitler - My Part In His Downfall by Spike Milligan is a brilliant read. Not so much an autobiography more his war memoirs. Very hilarious in parts and well written - as you would expect of Spike.
Stardust - David Bowie.
Adolf Hitler. My part in his downfall. By Spike Milligan.
A really good read and a real eye opener.
The Broken Biscuit - John Cowell.
The story of one woman's struggle and refusal to succumb to adversity - the beatings of a violent husband, the crippling poverty of the age - to raise six children and devote a lifetime to charity and good works.

Cracks in the Ceiling - John Cowell.
This coming-of-age saga takes us through John Cowell's young life during the 40s and 50s when he lived in a Lancashire cotton mill town with his adored mother, Winifred, his father, Jack and his siblings until - as a National Service soldier - he leaves for the faraway Cameroons in West Africa.

Elephant Grass - John Cowell.
Elephant Grass is a compassionate and heart-warming tale of a young man's exploits in the British Cameroons, West Africa, during National Service in Her Majesty's Forces.

God Loves a Trier - James Cowell.
This is a personal tale of a boy growing up: World War II rationing; fear of the Nazis; childhood adventures; and working in the coalmines.

If you want any of these signing with a personal message, it can be arranged. James is my father and John is my uncle :)
