Christmas Songs

How come songs released around Christmas, these days, aren't about Christmas anymore? The only ones we've had recently is Band Aid 20 and the Cheeky Girls. What happened to songs like "I wish it could be Christmas everyday" "Merry Christmas everyone" and "Santa Clause is coming to town"?

the consumer market decided they would rather buy songs by people like the cheeky girls who have no talent, so the people who actually produce worthwhile music don't get a look in

but why cant these crap bands take the time to make a christmas song rather than just release another same sounding song ?

christmas songs are still released 'bo selecta' and 'the darkness' to name but two in the last few years.
